Butler women’s Indoor Track & Field team ranked 6th Nationally
In just their two meets they have competed in this season, the Butler women's Indoor Track & Field team have put together some impressive performances and top marks in the nation helping lift them to a 6th place national ranking.
The Grizzlies checked in at No. 9 last week after their first indoor meet of the season at Washburn University. This past weekend, the Butler women claimed 3rd place at the Region VI Championships, behind Cloud (ranked No. 1) and Barton (ranked No. 5).
"I am so proud of how hard this women's team has worked," commented head coach Dustin Mettler. "With so much uncertainty this indoor season the girls stayed locked in and competed at a high level in their two opportunities they have had. I look forward to watching them compete again at Nationals next weekend."
Butler's Linesha Thompson is ranked inside the top five in all three individual events and one relay while teammate Kaleb McDonald has the 3rd fastest time in the 400 meter this year as well as a top 10 and top 15 time in her other events. Other Grizzlies have posted some top marks as well this season.
