EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler Grizzlies extended their winning streak after a 4-0 win over the Coffeyville Red Ravens on Wednesday night.
Butler took care of business, shutting out Coffeyville and securing another conference win.
The Grizzlies (7-6-4, 6-3-2) entered the match ranked third in the Jayhawk Conference standings, trailing Cowley and Hutchinson. Coffeyville (2-11-2, 1-8-1) came into the contest at the bottom of the standings.
All-American London Ingram opened the scoring for Butler, finding the back of the net off an assist from Amiyah Hamilton-Thompson with 21 minutes remaining in the first half. Naho Yamamura added a second goal with just 1:45 left before halftime, giving Butler a 2–0 lead at the break.
The first 25 minutes of the second half were slow-paced, but Ingram reignited the offense with her second goal of the night—assisted by Anahyssa Nash—to extend the lead to 3–0. Sophomore Wendy Zamudio sealed the win with a strike from about 15 yards out, capping the score at 4–0.
Butler recorded 19 total shots, including nine on goal. Coffeyville managed just two shots on goal. Goalkeeper Millie Robshaw-Charlesworth tallied two saves in the shutout performance. Ingram's brace marks back-to-back games with two goals, having also scored twice in Saturday's match with Cowley.
Next Up: Butler hits the road again Saturday to face conference rival Hutchinson at 2 p.m.
