KJCCC ‘Player of the Week’ Rewind- Soccer
With no spring sports in action and no opportunities for Grizzlies to earn KJCCC 'Player of the Week' honors, we are going to look back at all of this year's honorees.
Today we rewind to the fall season where thee times a Grizzly Soccer player picked up Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference 'Player of the Week' honors.
Week 2: Pricsila Bonilla, Player & Lexi Winkle, Goalkeeper
Butler Community College sophomore Pricsila Bonilla netted the 55th minute game winner for the 8th ranked Grizzlies to earn a hard-fought big national win over 5th ranked Navarro College.
Lexi Winkle recorded the shutout in net for Butler as the sophomore Grizzly turned back three Navarro shots on frame improving to 3-1-0 on the season.
Week 4: Lexi Winkle, Goalkeeper
Sophomore Lexi Winkle wins her 2nd goalkeeper weekly award in the early season appearing in two games this past week. She started and played all 90 minutes in a 1-0 win at #18 Johnson County. Winkle recorded a perfect four saves on four shots on goal. Winkle then came into a 1-1 game vs Coffeyville in the 49th minute. She recorded three saves on three shots on goal and saw the 6th ranked Grizzlies to a 3-1 win and a place at the top of the KJCCC East standings. Winkle is now 7-2-0 on the year while logging 693 minute with a 0.91 GAA.
