Morgan Bohanan enters her fifth season leading the Butler Grizzlies softball program ahead of the 2027 season.

In 2026, Bohanan guided the Grizzlies to a 37-16 overall record and a 26-6 mark in KJCCC play, finishing second in the conference standings. At the 2026 Plains District Tournament, Butler won four games in the loser's bracket to force a winner-take-all championship game against Dodge City before ultimately falling short and finishing as Region VI runners-up. Bohanan coached Addison Chapman to KJCCC Freshman of the Year and Pitcher of the Year honors while 11 Grizzlies earned all-conference recognition. Chapman was also named to the 2026 NFCA NJCAA Division I All-Region team.

Bohanan guided Butler back to the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series in 2025 as the Grizzlies captured the KJCCC regular-season championship and Region VI championship after winning the Region VI Tournament in Dodge City. It marked Butler's 14th all-time World Series appearance. Butler opened the World Series with a victory over Paris before falling to No. 1 seed Florida SouthWestern and McCook to end its run in Yuma.

The Grizzlies finished the season 45-9 overall and 27-5 in conference play, marking the fifth consecutive season with at least 45 wins. Bohanan coached 11 players to All-KJCCC honors and two to NFCA All-Region recognition. She also helped continue Butler's streak of appearing in every NJCAA poll since April 2015.

The 2024 season saw Butler finish 47-10 overall and 30-2 in league play, marking the fourth consecutive season with at least 45 victories. Under Bohanan's direction, the Grizzlies claimed their 18th conference championship, edging Hutchinson for the regular-season title. Butler advanced to the Region VI championship game before falling short. Nine Grizzlies earned All-KJCCC honors, including freshman Claire Lopez, who was named an NFCA All-Region selection and NJCAA All-American. Bohanan's Grizzlies appeared in all 11 NJCAA polls during the season.

In her first season as head coach in 2023, Bohanan guided the Grizzlies through early-season challenges before finishing with a 46-12 record, marking Butler's third consecutive season with at least 45 wins. Under Bohanan's leadership, Butler extended its Region VI dominance by winning both the Region VI and Plains District championships for the seventh straight season.

The Grizzlies earned a spot in the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series as the No. 8 seed, where Bohanan collected her first World Series victory as a head coach with a 4-1 win over No. 9 seed College of Southern Idaho in the opening round. She coached 10 Grizzlies to All-KJCCC honors, including KJCCC MVP Allyson Montgomery, who was later named a second-team NJCAA All-American. Six Grizzlies signed with NCAA Division I programs following the season.

A former NJCAA All-American infielder and NJCAA National Champion at Butler, Bohanan served as an assistant coach for the Grizzlies for two seasons (2021-22) before being named head coach.

During the 2021-22 season, Bohanan helped Butler capture its 11th consecutive KJCCC championship, along with Region VI and Plains District titles. The Grizzlies advanced to their sixth straight NJCAA National Tournament and finished with a 48-4 overall record. Bohanan coached KJCCC Player of the Year Madi Young and multiple All-KJCCC selections.

In 2020-21, Bohanan helped lead Butler to a 51-4 overall record, its 10th consecutive KJCCC championship, fifth straight Region VI title and 11th NJCAA National Tournament appearance. The Grizzlies posted a 47-game winning streak during the season while producing five NJCAA All-Americans, three NFCA All-Americans and 11 All-KJCCC selections. Butler led the NJCAA in doubles (149) and on-base percentage (.500), while ranking second nationally in batting average (.433), runs (634), RBIs (583) and runs allowed (121). The Grizzlies reached as high as No. 2 in the NJCAA rankings.

Before arriving at Butler, Bohanan served as an assistant coach at Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado, during the 2019-20 season. Otero posted a 12-5 record before the season was canceled due to COVID-19. She also coached summer softball with Impact Sports.

A Goddard, Kansas, native, Bohanan transferred to Butler after spending her freshman season at the University of Kansas, where she appeared in four games for the Jayhawks. A season-ending shoulder injury resulted in a medical redshirt. She recorded the first hit of her collegiate career against La Salle on March 6.

At Butler in 2016, Bohanan appeared in 52 games while playing first and third base for the Grizzlies. She earned NFCA NJCAA Division I First-Team All-America honors and was a first-team All-KJCCC selection. Bohanan helped lead Butler to the 2016 NJCAA National Championship while leading the team in batting average (.490), doubles (30) and on-base percentage (.562). She ranked second on the team with 77 hits and led all KJCCC Division I hitters with a .528 batting average in conference play.

During the season, Bohanan recorded a hit in 22 of 25 games from March 21 to May 5, totaling 18 doubles, 31 RBIs and 30 runs scored while batting .589 (43-for-73). She finished the NJCAA National Tournament 8-for-19 with four doubles and four runs scored.

Following her time at Butler, Bohanan transferred to Creighton University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in communication. She medically retired from playing softball at Creighton after battling injuries.
