Madi Young named KJCCC Player of the Week after a big time week at the plate for the No. 6-ranked Grizzlies
For the second time this season, Butler softball's Madi Young has been voted as the Jayhawk Conference Div. I softball 'Player of the Week'.
Madi Young, sophomore short stop from Derby, KS, helped lead No. 6 Butler to two KJCCC sweeps this past week with her dominant presence inside the batter's box. Young went 7-8 on the week hitting an astonishing .778. Young hit five doubles on the week, a homerun driving home four runs and scored eight times herself. Young took four bases brining her season total to 22 stolen bags on the year. She finished perfect in the field totaling five assists and five putouts with a double play turned. Young is hitting .577 on the season and leads the team in batting average, hits, doubles, triples, homeruns, RBI's and stolen bases.
This is Young's second Player of the Week honor this season and now the Grizzlies have had a total of five KJCCC Player/Pitcher of the week honors named this season through eight weeks of voting.
