Bio
The 2024 season marks Edward Parson’s first on staff with Butler. He serves as the Grizzly running backs coach.
Parson spent the 2023 season as the running backs coach at Ellsworth Community College. The Panthers saw a two-game win improvement in 2023 in Parson’s lone year on staff. Parson had a hand in scouting, recruiting and game plan collaboration for the ECC offense.
From 2019-22 Parson was a part of the Grambling State football program serving as a football operations manager as well as assisting the running backs and wide receivers’ positions. As football operations manager, Parson coordinated major team events including training camps, draft days and preseason activities. He managed player logistics, oversaw travel arrangements and all team operations.
Parson’s coaching career began in 2019 as he was the wide receivers and running backs coach at C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, Louisiana.
While pursuing his undergraduate degree at Grambling State, Parson served as an equipment manager for the football team from 2017-19.
A Shreveport, La., native, Parson holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master’s of Science in Sports Administration from Grambling State University.
