Butler football wide receiver/return specialist Da'Realyst Clark was honored by the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference as well as the NJCAA on Wednesday morning.
The redshirt sophomore out of Lima, Ohio, was named the KJCCC and NJCAA D1 Special teams Player of the Week.
Clark had a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Butler's 48-7 loss at No. 1 ranked Iowa Western on Saturday. The return came after Iowa Western scored its first touchdown to make it 7-0. Clark's kickoff return tied the game back up 7-7 and gave the Grizzlies some momentum. He finished the game with four kickoff returns for a 37.5 yard per return average.
The return touchdown was Clark's second of the season as he returned a punt 85-yards for a touchdown at Ellsworth in week two.
Clark is the second Grizzly to receive honors from the NJCAA this season as defensive tackle Seven Cloud was the NJCAA Defensive Player of the Week a week ago following Butler's win at Hutchinson. The Grizzlies have had four KJCCC Player of the Week selections this season. Linebacker Landon Boss was the Defensive Player of the Week in week 5 and last week three Grizzlies swept the conference awards in Markellus Bass, Seven Cloud and Chevy Edwards.
Butler (5-3, 4-0) plays host to Dodge City (6-3, 3-2) this Saturday at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
