Grizzlies Fall to KCK in Nine Innings

Butler (21-14, 11-5 KJCCC) fell to KCK (27-11, 18-2) 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon. KCK struck first in the bottom half of the first after a sac fly scored a runner from third.
Grizzly centerfielder got the Grizzlies on the board in the top half of the third after an RBI single scored Blake Rogers to even up the score at 1 apiece. KCK responded in the bottom half of the inning after an RBI triple to right field to retake the lead at 2-1.
In the top half of the fourth, leftfielder Blake Rogers singled on a line drive to left field and scored Kaden Gomez-Gordon to tie the game back up at 2.
After a Grizzly error, the Blue Devils scored to again retake the lead 3-2, and added onto their lead in the bottom of the seventh after a bases loaded walk to extend their lead to 4-2.
Gomez-Gordon hit an RBI groundout to score Jackson Ellison to cut KCK's lead to 4-3, but came up empty in the ninth, ended the game with a 4-3 win for KCK.
Butler amassed nine hits in 35 at bats. Despite the win, KCK was held to six hits in 31 at bats.
Wideman went 3-5 with one RBI, Rogers finished 2-4 with one run and one RBI.
Next up: The Grizzlies will host No. 5 ranked Cloud County on Thursday at 1 and 3:30 p.m. from McDonald Stadium.
