Butler Baseball Sweeps Highland in Four Game Series
EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler Grizzlies swept the Highland Scotties in four games on Thursday and Friday from McDonald Stadium.

EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler Grizzlies swept the Highland Scotties in four games on Thursday and Friday from McDonald Stadium.
Game 1 (7 inn.) – Butler 8, Highland 4
Game one of the four game series started off with a bang for the Grizzlies. In the bottom of the third, with the game tied at 1-1, Butler designated hitter Tanay Vyas launched a ball to deep centerfield and the ball hit right off the forehead of the Highland centerfielder and went over the centerfield wall for a two-run homer. The play went viral on social media, as it landed on Barstool Sports, the Pat McAfee Show, and ESPN.

The Grizzlies would close the game out in seven innings, winning 8-4.
Butler sophomore right-handed pitcher Shane Holman (W, 4-2) picked up his fourth win of the season. Holman threw all seven innings and allowed seven hits, four runs (two earned), and had four strikeouts.
Game 2 (7 inn.) – Butler 16, Highland 2
The Grizzlies owned game two of Thursday's doubleheader, defeating Highland 16-2.

George Hobbins started on the mound for the Grizzlies and threw 3.2 innings and allowed just three hits, one earned run, and had seven strikeouts. Luke Schmitt (W, 1-1) earned his first win of the season. Schmitt threw 3.1 innings and allowed one hit and one earned run while striking out five batters.
Game 3 (5 inn.) – Butler 10, Highland 0
Butler shut out Highland in game three 10-0. The Grizzlies scored four runs in the first, one in the second, two in the third and three in fourth to complete the run-rule.
Holden Lough went 3-3 with two home runs and four RBIs.
Whitley Rhodes (W, 3-1) threw all five innings and allowed just four hits, 0 runs, and struck out six batters.
Game 4 (5 inn.) – Butler 16, Highland 3
The Grizzlies closed the series on Saturday with a 16-3 win over the Scotties to complete the sweep. Butler held a 5-3 lead going into the bottom half of the 5th and put up 11 runs in the inning, including a walk off grand slam from freshman Blake Rogers, his first hit of his collegiate career.
Danny Wideman hit his 18th homer of the season, which puts him tied for 5th on the all-time single season home run leaderboard in school history.
Connor Robinson (W, 2-1) earned the start and the win for the Grizzlies. Robinson threw four innings and allowed five hits, three runs, and struck out five batters.
Connor Clark came in the 5th and allowed only one hit.
Next up: The Grizzlies will be on the road on Tuesday to take on Kansas City Kansas Community College at 1 p.m.
