Butler Adds Megan Fabrizius to Athletic Training Staff
Grizzlies Add 3rd Full-Time Athletic Trainer
EL DORADO, Kan. – The Butler Community College Athletic Training staff is set to expand with the addition of Megan Fabrizius as an Assistant Athletic Trainer later this month.
Fabrizius joins the Grizzlies after earning her Master of Athletic Training degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in May.
"I am very excited to have Megan join us here at Butler," said head athletic trainer Amanda Maiden. "She has a great background in athletic training and will be a huge asset to our staff and student-athletes!"
Fabrizius is currently serving as a paid intern for the Round Rock Express, the Texas Rangers MiLB Triple-A affiliate in Round Rock, Texas. In that position she aids the Head Athletic Trainer in daily evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries in addition to general maintenance for performance with the athletes.
She began working with the Express in 2024 and has also been part of a clinical rotation with the team while completing requirements for her masters, assessing the biomechanics of hitting/pitching stances to reduce the risk of injury and re-injury.
Other experience for Fabrizius includes a MAT (Master of Athletic Training) clinical rotation in 2025 at Orthopedic Spine and Sports Physical Therapy in Moore, Okla., where she rehabilitated a variety of patient populations and monitored progress through rehabilitation protocols. She also spent time at Westmoore High School, Edmond Memorial High School and Oklahoma City University in rotations as an athletic trainer.
Fabrizius earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Sciences from Kansas State University in 2023. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
The addition of Fabrizius runs the tally of athletic trainers at Butler to three as she joins Maiden and assistant athletic trainer Jared Brown.
"Having a third athletic trainer is big for our department," said Maiden. "It will help us provide better coverage for all of our student-athletes while allowing us to enhance and add on to existing services we provide."
