After suffering their second loss of the season Saturday night on the road at Independence, the Grizzlies have fallen five spots to No. 9 in this week's NJCAA National Poll.
Coming off a 5-0 start to the season, Butler has lost their last two games, both at the hands of KJCCC opponents Hutchinson and Independence.
The top five saw quite the shake up this past week with three of the top-5 teams suffering losses.
East Mississippi started it off Thursday night with a loss at home to Northwest (MS). Top-ranked Hutchinson then had a go-ahead field goal blocked in the final minutes on the road at No. 2 Highland losing 29-27. The Grizzlies were the third top-five team to suffer a loss as Butler fell on the road 49-20 to Independence.
Mississippi Gulf Coast (6-0) claims the top-spot in this week's poll as Northwest Mississippi jumps five spots to No. 2 with a 5-1 record. Lackawanna (5-0) slides up to No. 3 while Hutchinson falls to No. 4. Kilgore caps off the top five claiming the fifth spot with a 6-1 record.

-Highland moved up six spots to No. 14 with the win over top-ranked Hutchinson
-Garden City moves up two spaces to No. 10 after their win at Iowa Central
-Independence cracks the top-20 coming in at No. 17 with their win over Butler
-Fort Scott is receiving votes after their bye week
Butler (5-2, 3-2) will look to right the ship as they play host to Air Force Prep this Saturday, October 12 at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex at 7:00 pm.
