The Butler women stayed unbeaten at home while keeping Northwest Kansas Tech winless on the season in a 79-48 win at the Power Plant on Wednesday.
No. 11 Butler is now 7-0 at home after dominating the first half against the Mavericks. The Grizzlies sprinted out to an 8-0 lead to start the game, with six of those points on three layups from Awreona Ransom.
Butler would lead 26-8 after one quarter and 46-14 at the half.
Butler slowed considerably in the second half, actually getting outscored 18-15 in the third quarter.
Butler improves to 12-1 overall and 4-1 in Jayhawk Conference play with the win. Northwest Tech is now 0-12 and 0-4 in conference. Butler is now off until traveling to Great Bend for a game against Barton on Saturday, Jan. 5.
